Genealogy Seminar:
This was the first task I was given where I was allowed to think creatively and differently. We were working in groups and had to imagine a potential situation in the future and imagine a product that would either solve that situation or aid the situation. It was interesting to hear everybody's ideas and our group got off to a strong start. We began thinking of current ways of thinking which lead to self obsession as everybody is obsessed with the way they look and what people think of them. I liked this starting point because it had a lot of potential and we went down many different routes, for example, how being self obsessed could reflect relationships and social situations. We did think of a product to begin with, 'vanity glasses', which followed this concept.

We then went onto thinking about how everything is on-line and how our lives would be if relationships were only online. This idea sparked with the mention of the dating app 'Tinder', which makes dating more of an online game rather than interacting with real people. We decided to imagine a world where people never met each other and actually began forming friendships, getting married and even having children over the internet.

The task was very interesting and also allowed us to get to know more people on our course. It was also interesting to hear other ways of thinking and different approaches to the task.
